I have been using clisp for many years and this is the firt time I
have this problem.
On a recently installed Windows XP SP3 machine, whatever version of
clisp I try ( 2.44, 2.47 or 2.48) I have problem with typing:
characters will not display normally, but will come with a bunch of
strange things: if I type "a" I get "[^Q and the rectable with a face
in it" or something like that.
I simply cannot figure what the problem is.

I never saw or heard about anything like you are describing.
Is it a laptop? They have strange keyboards sometimes.
