Thanks for the patch. Please give an explanation of each patch, next time,
that explains 1. what are the symptoms of the problem, 2. how to reproduce
it, 3. what you think are the reasons. Like this for example:

Alternation, `\|', is common but POSIX does not require its
support, so it should be avoided in portable scripts. Solaris 8
`sed' does not support alternation; e.g., `sed '/a\|b/d'' deletes
only lines that contain the literal string `a|b'.
