I created a quick launch toolbar in Windows 7 as described here...
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/975784/en-
us
But I have a problem...that process says you can move the created quick launch
toolbar back to the left end of the taskbar, next to Start--where it should
be, by unlocking the taskbar, grabbing the handle at the left point of the
toolbar, and moving it over to the left end.
Doesn't work for me...it does slide left, but it just squeezes icons for any
open tasks, and just stops about 80% to the left. It really appears to just be
expanding the created toolbar rather than moving it.
Is it possible that Classic Shell (which I LOVE by the way), is preventing
what the kb describes to happen?

I don't think Classic Shell is at fault here. It's just that the dragging in
the taskbar is poorly implemented.
What works for me is to grab the left-most handle and drag it to the right
past the quick launch.

Ohmigosh. That worked like a champ. Thank you very much sir. You have totally
made my day.
I have now almost tamed the idiotic Windows 7, except for the inability to
drag files/folders inside Explorer windows to the order you want them to show
.
But your knowledge of this alternate method is simply terrific. I don't know
why Microsoft does not mention that in its KB.
Thanks again and again.
