Love Classic Shell. I've noticed that auto-complete only works when 2 characters or more are entered. Example: in Win 7 I used to press WinKey + "y" + Enter to open Yahoo Messenger (it was automatically selected). With CS I have to type "ya". Is there a way to enable auto-complete suggestions from the first entered character? Thanks.
(this probably belongs to the Help section)
This has nothing to do with the number of characters you enter.
If there are more than 20 results that match the text, the menu will not show. You can force it to show by pressing Tab or clicking the >> icon.
You can raise the 20-results limit from the Search Box tab in the Settings.
Thanks, I had to raise max search results to 200 to get results. However, upon pressing "y" (or any other letter) there is a massive list with most suggestions not starting with "y", including the first one. It seems like 2 or even 3 characters are required to get suggestions beginning with those 2 or 3 characters.
That's because "Match parts of words" option is checked. Uncheck that and you will get the behavior you want. But note that after unchecking it, you won't get partial matches, so you won't be able to type 'ahoo'. :)
Perfect, thank you both for answering and sorry for not digging enough into the options.
