Does anybody know how to make a D-latch (or really, any state circuit) from scratch, using simple gates?
The problem is that the output of gates, in the first instant, is an error (red) state. If you're making combinational logic, this isn't a problem-the proper values eventually all get propagated through. But for anything with a feedback loop, the error states persist. They're propagated back into other gates, which then output errors, and so on.
Ultimately, what I'm trying to make is a D-latch whose default output is 0, rather than E.
