Hi All, I am trying to compile chromium on x86_64 with DMX support enabled. The setup details are as follows Processor Type - Opteron (x86_64) Operating System - SuSE 9.2 X Server - X.org release 6.8.1 OpenGL - Mesa (USE_OSMESA=1) The compilation (linking) of tilesort spu fails with following errors. Linking ../../built/tilesortspu/Linux/libtilesortspu.so /usr/lib64/gcc-lib/x86_64-suse-linux/3.3.4/../../../../x86_64-suse-linux/bin/ld: /usr/X11R6/lib64/libdmx.a(dmx.o): relocation R_X86_64_32 against `a local symbol' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC /usr/X11R6/lib64/libdmx.a: could not read symbols: Bad value collect2: ld returned 1 exit status gmake[3]: *** [../../built/tilesortspu/Linux/libtilesortspu.so] Error 1 gmake[2]: *** [dep] Error 2 gmake[1]: *** [tilesort.subdir] Error 2 The headers and libraries are in right places. Any ideas what should be the problem? Do I need to recompile libdmx with -fPIC? Someone on the list has posted a similar problem compiling GM with chromium. But I couldnt find answer in that particular thread. Thanks and regards. -abhijit __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The all-new My Yahoo! - Get yours free! http://my.yahoo.com |
