If we do this, which languages are you able to translate chromium to?

Would you also be willing to translate the manual page?

Unfortunately it appears as if FTGL (our current text renderer) doesn't support Unicode, so I might have to switch to QuesoGLC instead.

Help is welcome for any of this stuff.

    > If we do this, which languages are you able to translate chromium to?

I would do the German translation.

    > Would you also be willing to translate the manual page?

Yes, I could also translate the manual page.

  • I could help with the English to Spanish translation.

I've made a first step towards this: added support for alternate text rendering backends, migrated the FTGL code to the FTGL one and implemented most of the GLC one. I just need to fix up the GLC one. Intermediate patch attached.

Thanks to the QuesoGLC author, I've now got a working GLC backend.

Patch attached, will look it over once QuesoGLC author has had a chance to comment.

GLC backend committed in SVN r138.

I'll take a look at adding i18n soon.

I've implemented i18n in the attached patch. Please give it a try and send in a minimal translation of just the in-game menus and messages.

Also, do you know how to do i18n for manual pages? I think it would be best if we could use the normal work flow - xgettext->po->translated manual pages.

Here is a new patch that makes a few more strings translator friendly and doubles the size of some buffers since UTF-8 strings for non-ASCII languages such as Chinese may be much longer.

I got bored of waiting for someone to respond.

I've committed the code i18n patch to SVN and got a Debian guy to do a German translation.

Please open new tickets if you make a translation.
