Not sure if i get you right but the warning comes from the fact that a readonly value cannot be altered. Further i couldn't reproduce your problem with the input field not becoming readonly. If i look at http://147.87.255.30:8080/chiba-web-2.0.0/XFormsServlet?form=/forms/test/testDate.xhtml&JavaScript=enabled the first two controls are readonly (including the input field). Think i must have misunderstood something about your message - can you elaborate please?
