Hi

I am using Checkstyle 4.2 version and I need to use the usage checks (in the usage package) that had been removed in 4.0 beta version though it used to exist in the earlier versions. (UnusedLocalVariableCheck, UnusedPrivateFieldCheck, etc)
Could you please give me a jar which would contain Checkstyle 4.2 rules with this usage rules added to it?

Regards,
Tejaswini

No, I do not have time to do this.

Can you please let me know an alternative solution for the same? How I can use the usage checks in my current project?

With checkstyle you can't. This is because the library that we used earlier to implement the functionality does not support Java5 (e.g. enums). Probably what Oliver meant is that none of the developers have time to implement that functionality, because it's non-trivial. Patches are welcome, though :-)

The functionality you are after is covered by lots of other tools like Findbugs (http://findbugs.sf.net) or your favorite IDE.
