Checkstyle seems very confused as I start to implement
Generics and ForEach loop. I am sure it is somewhere
on your drawing boards but did not see any reference to
it.

me too, me too! I'm sure it's just a change in the config file,
but I can't figure out how to do it.

T.J.: There is no way to add JDK 1.5 support by changing the
config file, it requires quite substantial changes to the
    checkstyle code base.

    Status update:

Basic grammar support for all new language Java 1.5 features
is now in place with work ongoing to update all checks to fully
support (not just permit) the new 1.5 token types.

I understand that, but: Is this on the todo list for a next
    release?

yes - have you tried the version of Checkstyle in CVS?

No, I was waiting for the new official release.
    Is the CVS snapshot usable?

A snapshot of CVS head should be somewhat usable but your
mileage may vary. Please give it a go and report any
problems you find, as others have been.

Would it be possible to have a snapshot of Checkstyle on
ibiblio along with a maven plugin that runs the snapshot
    version?
