Hi,

I want to split a large configuration file into several
(thematic) fragments.
These fragments are declared in the main config file as
external entities.
The fragment cannot be referenced with a hardcoded
path so I need to set a entityresolver which is used
during the loading of the configuration.

For now there is no way to set a custom entity resolver.

I'll append a patched ConfigurationLoader class that
allows this.

Could the behavior (splitting up a configuration file) be
achieved using an XInclude-capable XML parser instead?

The 3.5 CVS has an example of how to configure the XML
parser factory for Checkstyle, and how to support XInclude
processing. Rather than setting the entity resolver, you can
write a factory that produces parsers with a particular
    entity resolver.
