Hi Celso, I'll try this example tomorrow on my linux box and maybe also in winxp in VirtualBox and tell you if I'm getting the same error. What for an error are you getting? Could you be more specific? What version of PyQt, Qt, python and win do you use? regards Martin |

i tried this : http://doc.trolltech.com/qq/qq25-webrobot.html in pyqt, but i have a "windows error" from PyQt4.QtCore import * from PyQt4.QtXmlPatterns import * query = QXmlQuery(); queryFile = QFile ("query.xq"); queryFile.open(QIODevice.ReadOnly); queryString = QString(); queryString = QTextStream(queryFile).readAll(); url = QUrl("http://doc.trolltech.com/qq/"); item = QXmlItem(QVariant(url.toString())); query.bindVariable("inputDocument",item) query.setQuery(queryString, url); outArray = QByteArray(); mybuffer = QBuffer (outArray); mybuffer.open(QIODevice.ReadWrite); formatter = QXmlFormatter (query, mybuffer); query.evaluateTo(formatter) mybuffer.close(); print query.isValid(); print QString.fromUtf8(outArray.data()) |

Hi Celso, I've tried your minidom example but I wasn't able to open xml with file name containing localized (non ASCII) characters. Martin |

Hi every one. I've summarized some points about coding style: http://changingsong.sourceforge.net/wiki/Coding_Style And created one examle script, basend on this style: http://changingsong.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/changingsong/trunk/samples/xml_parser/minidom/benchmark.py?view=markup What do you think about it? Is it acceptable? |

Hi Celso, Thanks again for your continuous work. I've just commited a modification of your minidom code. I created file trunk/samples/xml_parser/minidom/benchmark.py This is only a CLI app that parses all opensong songs in passed folder and displays the time it has taken. It should be able to run on windows and to parse files which contains non ASCII chars in their names. This is what I meant by testing xml parsers. With this concept it should be easy to compare the speed of different xml parsers. I also tried to express coding style I'd like to be used. Could you, please, try to follow this concet and coding style for testing other xml parsers? Or what do you mean? Martin |

Hi Celso, Could you look at some of my ideas about new "xml data format"? I've restructured wiki so the older link to this document mentioned in forum may not work. New link: http://changingsong.sourceforge.net/wiki/Data_Format What do you think about it? In the 1st place i'd like to concentrate on song schema, than lyrics syntax. The main open issue is if it would be better extend current opensong lyrics syntax or create a new tag based syntax. Martin |

Hi Celso, thanks for your initiative. Please have a look at the wiki: http://changingsong.sourceforge.net/wiki/XML_Library you can get there from: main site->Developer Center->Technologies->choosen xml library where I created a place where to put information about tested xml libraries. I would like if you could choose some candidates which you could test and write there about them. I'll test the others. Or if you have other candidates for xml libraries. I hope your wiki account is operational. If there are some problems with your wiki account or article permissions, please tell me. could you please commit your test scripts to svn, into folder trunk/samples/xml_parser/ ? thanks in advance Martin |
