Hi Bernard,

thanks for testing the

PKGCONFIG += glu $$LUAPC libpng theora
line. Since release 11.3, in  openSuSE, there is the option of installing both libpng12 and libpng14 as well as a compatibility link that may either be with libpng12 or libpng14,  and would be used as -lpng under compilation in those cases where the PNG version is unimportant. libpng.pc is either a symbolic link to libpng12.pc or to libpng14.pc in the /usr/lib/pkgconfig/ directory. How is that done in Ubuntu?

was not known then. However, this statement works for me in Qt 4.7.2:

qmake   -set PREFIX ""

This works for the isEmpty statement but the variable is still listed
when you do qmake -query so it not so clean.
This is surprising and disagrees with my tests under Qt 4.7.2 in OpenSuSE 11.1
Here is the command sequence I tested with Qt 4.7.2/ openSuSE 11.1:

> qmake -set PREFIX /opt
> qmake -query PREFIX
/opt
> less ~/.config/Trolltech/QMake.conf
[2.01a]
PREFIX=/opt
------OK------------
> qmake -set PREFIX ""
> qmake -query PREFIX

> less ~/.config/Trolltech/QMake.conf
[2.01a]
PREFIX=
-----------OK-------------

looks correct to me?

I have tested your proposed addition of further libs:
PKGCONFIG += glu $$LUAPC libpng theora
on Ubuntu 11.10 and it works well.
I have theora in, because I have included the movie capture patch.
