The planetographic grid could be improved in two ways:
- The parallels and meridians should be drawn with more line segments, so that they appear smoother.
- The minimum spacing is limited to 10 degrees right now; it should be smaller when the camera is very close or zoomed in toward a planet.
A limited fix is possible without much work; however, substantially boosting smoothness and spacing will require some sort of visibility determination algorithm for the grid lines. The algorithm would have to handle oblate and triaxial planet and satellites ellipsoids.
