#142 Odd behavior of star glare on Mac, at 1 LY

The star glare is now a bit too large and is changing abruptly at exactly 1 LY from the star. This bug is systematic. Apparently, Chris wasn't able to reproduce the issue on his computers, but Da Woon (Dirkpitt) was able to confirm the bug. Apparently, this is Mac specific.

It bug wasn't there before 1.5.0 pre2 (or 3 ?).

    Needs to be fixed for 1.5.0, so moving to group v1.5. Does this bug affect all star modes (scaled disc, fuzzy points, points)?

    Yes, this bug is occuring under all star modes (scaled discs, fuzzy points, points). It's just more obvious with the points mode.

    It's only occuring under the OpenGL rendering modes, both OGL (DOT3+ARB VP) and OGL2. Not under the basic and multitexture modes.

    What it does: Detects max point size, and delays transition from billboard to point sprite rendering until the size is <= max point size.
