I have a local copy of http://www.ebi.ac.uk/steinbeck-srv/jchempaint- development-current/EditorApplet.html together with all the jars in the applet zipfile. The error is there, both in Firefox and IE8: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/openscience/jchempaint/applet/JChemPaintAbstractApplet When I put it on the server, it does work. So there's something with the local setup. Maybe the signing of the applet? I am accepting it but not permanently. In Opera, I am prompted several times to accept the signed applet and then everything works even locally. But Firefox only prompts me once. Even accepting the signing permanently doesn't change things. So it seems to be my problem, but other users may fall in the same trap. |
