(I hope this is not a duplication.)
I have a desktop with Windows XP SP3 and 1 gig of memory. I am using Cdex (latest
version) to rip my CDs to MP3s. I have only had it for a few days but was happy to find it.
I did 5 - 6 discs and then checked random tracks with good results. I saved the
configuration and set about to rip all the discs. I'm about 100 discs into the project and,
spotting a song I really needed to hear then, played the MP3. I found about a 2 second
dead spot about 7 seconds in. I checked the CD and there is no problem with it. I re-ripped
that track and that MP3 is fine. Now, I have selected about 18 - 19 random tracks from
random folders and found 2 more dead spots, each one in the first 20 seconds of the files.
I have 1236 MP3s in 170 folders and the idea of checking each one for flaws is daunting to
say the least. Suggestions?? Sys. info. follows.
