So I'm reading the Perl 5.10 release notes, and it says "The Perl installation is now relocatable."

Progress is being made on that front.

I started by creating /experimental/static-libperl on SVN, and cloning /CamelBones into that. Never work without a net! :-)

More progress to report.

I'm off to see what's up with those test failures next. They were probably induced by the switch from ffcall to ffi, and since the tests are organized by argument type that narrows it down pretty well.

OK, most of the test failures have been repaired - although I'm not too sure about the fix in one case. The exception-handling test didn't actually throw an exception - instead, it calls an unknown method. I'll have to verify that it's supposed to be a catchable exception.

A threading test still fails, on both 10.4 (intel) and 10.5 (ppc). The 20-PerlObject.t test is failing several subtests on Leopard (ppc), and those subtests all pass on Tiger (intel). In each of the affected subtests, a call to respondsToSelector: erroneously returns false. I haven't figured out why yet. :-(
