Is git the only way to work with your source code ?
Where is the most recent version ?
I want to add a couple of UI features to begin with.
I would like to choose the image name when I use
tethered mode. I would also like to automatically
add the date and time to the image file name.

Git is where the freshest version lives. And if you hope to make
edits and send me patches, git is the most practical way to track
the source and format patches.
Are you saying you cannot install the "git" software, or are you
having trouble building the camctl program that you've retrived

Those would be nice features. The ideal would be to have under
preferences a way to set a string for the file name that may
include substitution sequences.
