Please consider writing and installing an AppData file with the application
description and some screenshots, else BZFlag looks really bad in the GNOME
Software Center. See http://people.freedesktop.org/~hughsient/appdata/ for
Also, bzflag ships a XPM icon, which the metadata parser can't process. Would you perhaps consider shipping a more modern icon format such as PNG? To be included your application needs to ship an icon of at least 48x48px, and ideally 64x64px with an alpha channel to avoid padding. Thanks.
We have our icon in PNG format in several sizes in our MISC dir. Please feel free to submit a pull request against our GitHub branch with whatever changes you think are needed.https://github.com/BZFlag-Dev/bzflag-import-3/tree/v2_4_x
This is where we are doing all new work.
Please note that we do not actually submit BZFlag to any of the Linux distributions, that is done by third parties.
We actually have an SVG version of the icon in our misc/art/ directory. There are two PNG versions in the data/ directory that should probably get re-rendered from the SVG, as they both look a bit choppy and are slightly different.
Please consider improving and installing this AppData file we wrote: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hughsie/fedora-appstream/master/appdata-extra/desktop/bzflag.appdata.xml
