I've installed the game from repositories. I get the following error:

brutalchess -p quake
Q3Set::load()
Couldn't open file ../art/md3/cloud//lower.md3
Couldn't open file ../art/md3/cloud//upper.md3
Couldn't open file ../art/md3/cloud//head.md3
Load aimation params
Failed to load the animation.cfg file: ../art/md3/cloud/animation.cfg
Fallo de segmentación (core dumped)

We don't distribute those files. That was test code but we shipped it anyway. If you are smart enough to figure it out go ahead and use it. Otherwise, that feature is unsupported.
