Dear,
I'm new of brl cad and I've installed the latest version on a Win7 machine.
I need to use the tire utilities to create a simply iges file to import in a FEM simulation sofware.
I've create my tire (attached) and I need to export it.
I've found in another question how to export the file
(the example was on dxf file, but I see that there where the same option for iges. the command used was:
g-iges -o new.dxf yourfile.g some_object)
and I've done the same but, unfortunatly, the iges file created is empty and I don't undestand where I made the mistake (I think that I need to specify the object to be exported instead of some object, but in a tire as my attached what is the right object to be esported?).
Could you please, help me to export the tire and the tread surface?

Thanks a lot in advance and best regards,
Fabio

The usual culprit involves not creating any regions. I haven't looked into your specific mytire.g example to see if you created one or more regions for your tire, but you can try creating one and exporting that. In mged:

    mged> r my_tire.r u mytire

    Then try exporting that, e.g., g-dxf -o new.dxf mytire.g my_tire.r

If that doesn't work, it's highly likely due to tessellation tolerances needing to be adjusted (e.g., g-dxf -a 0.01 -o new.dxf mytire.g my_tire.r) What values to use for the -a absolute, -r relative, and -n normal tolerances are going to depend on the scale of your model.
