The installation (on Snow Leopard) seemed to go fine but the app is nowhere to be found. It's not in my Applications folder and I can't find it with a filename search. I've installed it three times now with the same result. What's wrong?!

BRL-CAD is still command line launched for OSX. Open a terminal and type:
    which mged
If you don't get a path then you need to update your .profile file.
Browse the /usr directory and you should be able to find where BRL-CAD was installed.

BRL-CAD installs into a portion of the filesystem that is not searchable with Finder. Also, BRL-CAD is a suite of apps, not one application. To see one of the GUI tools, run /Applications/Utilities/X11 and in the xterm window that opens up, run:

    /usr/brlcad/rel-7.12.2/bin/mged
