The feature is interesting but as discussed elsewhere, this contribution cannot presently be integrated with BRL-CAD due to both copyright and licensing issues at a minimum. BRL-CAD presently requires copyright assignment or otherwise complete permission on all contributions to legally manage them effectively. BRL-CAD also no longer includes any GPL licensed code. All of BRL-CAD's code is now either licensed under the LGPL, under a BSD style license, retains copyright but has granted BRL-CAD complete permission, or is code in the public domain.

Since as discussed, you are apparently in a situation that might not legally allow you to assign copyright, the contribution would have to 1) be licensed under the LGPL or BSD license and 2) have complete permission granted on use OR 1) put into the public domain. Ideally, the feature would also include documentation, usage examples, and follow BRL-CAD HACKING code conventions as well.

As it stands, the feature cannot be added. Thanks for the interest and for making us aware of the effort, regardless.
