The Survivability/Vulnerability Information Analysis Center (SURVIAC) will be offering its BRL-CAD training courses at the SURVICE Eglin Area Operation in Ft. Walton Beach during the week of September 19, 2011.  These two courses provide hands-on experience and instruction with the basic elements of the BRL-CAD package and an overview of analysis and conversion tools.  Specifically, students will:


1. Explore many facets of the multi-device geometry editor (MGED)

2. Create images using rt, rtedge, and rtwizard

3. Analyze geometry using rtcheck, rtweight, and g_qa

4. Develop their own database

5. Review CAD conversion programs

6. Discuss advanced topics.

The DoD-sponsored SURVIAC ASO, located adjacent to Aberdeen Proving Ground in northeastern Maryland, provides full-service distribution and support for the BRL-CAD solid modeling package. This includes the initial distribution of the software, installation support, maintenance release updates, technical support, and future activities information. Training courses are offered periodically.


SURVIAC provides the DoD community with a one-stop resource for all aspects of nonnuclear survivability, lethality, and mission effectiveness, which includes dissemination of information and models.
