Hi. Is there a benefit to installing in cygwin v. win32?
Cygwin will give you a "complete" and nearly fully-functional if not fully-functional compile of BRL-CAD depending on any compilation flags you use. It won't make MGED behave any differently, but it will provide the 350 other binary command-line applications that are part of BRL-CAD but didn't make it into the 7.8.0 Windows release. There is a new Win32 binary release going to happen within a month or so that adds a slew of missing commands (about half of all commands) and fixes a lot of Windows-specific issues. Win32 will generally give you a better looking/behaving binary, but feature-wise it's not really much different.
