#224 MGED Fails to load on Windows XP with sp3

7.12.6 fails when launching command window, graphic window launches without error.

XP is Version 5.1 (build 2600,xpsp_sp3_gdr,090206-1234 : Service Pack 3)

Since this is obviously too much information, I tried to capture the windows error report but, alas, the system won't let me copy the information. I looked through the reports for the first n modules and they are all the same except for a few details, the following should give a feel for it,

    Henry, alas that diagnostic output isn't very helpful. A stack trace showing our function calls is where that sort of output becomes useful. Those numbers are just saying what libraries were loaded when it crashed.

    How are you trying to run the command window?

    What I'll have to suggest is trying a more recent version of BRL-CAD for Windows to see if the problem still exists. There should be a new 7.16.8 release posted soon (within the week), so please do test and see if you still encounter this issue.
