No

In the MGED Command Window the last character of the command-line is frequentely (no allways) neglected.
After hitting <enter> it appears behind the insertion point.

work-around : finish the command-line with a <space>
and don't forget to repeat after
re-entering with the <up-button>.

BRL-CAD on windows-xp.

Is this an ecception only occuring on my machine, or a
general behaviour?

Peter, does it happen all the time? I don't think I've heard of anyone reporting that it always happens for them. If you have a reproducible set of steps that cause the problem, that would greatly help too.

  • Sean,

Being a starting user (still mudling through "Introduction to MGED"),I can't reproduce a sequence of actions wich could have caused the problem. Knowing to be a poor typist (friendly qualifycation), I expected to cause the problem myself, but is occures also with simple commands like <Z>, <q> and <ls>.
Last session all went well without ending the command-line with <space> until the cursor refused to pass the last character of the line using the right-arrow button,
(It was the first time I noticed that happening), and virtualy all folowing commands went wrong.
As this probem seems rather unique, could it be that the MGED-editor is iterfered by a flaw in my windows-setup?

This issue has been resolved in the latest (unreleased) version of the source code. Thank you for bringing the issue to our attention! You're welcome and encouraged to test and make sure this issue is resolved after the next source release of BRL-CAD.

The only key combination I could find that produces this behavior is <Control-Key-slash>. This was a binding set on the Text class by Tk.
