Where is the compiled program on the PC (before downloading)?

It certainly is not along with the source, not in %USER%/Temp (or in %User%, either), not in %Windows%/Temp, neither is it in %TEMP% or %TMP%, nor in the Brixcc directory. I'm puzzled. (In fact I've just scanned the whole system drive, but I can't even be sure about the filename, so this is all just guesswork, to no avail.)

I think it would be easier if there was a config. parameter in the GUI to tell explicitly where to put the output files.

    The output is not saved to disk unless you tell BricxCC to "save compiler output" in the Preferences dialog. If you tell it to save compiler output then the output is saved to the same directory as the source code.
