dos 4.01 can be installed into a bochs emulated system. it just doesnt run off the hard drive img file. is there any way it can be done? i need the bochs program to do this for me. thanks in advance. (ive tried all sorts of current bochs setups, but none have worked.)

    Hi,

    it would be nice if you explain a little more like:

    1. Which Bochs version did you try ?
    2. What is the meaning of "doesn't run" ? Crash ? What are the Bochs log messages ?
    3. Where we can find that dos 4.01 ? Do you want to supply disk image ?
    4. Does the same disk image works on real hardware ?

    it is bochs 2.4.6 for win32. my system (vista p4 3ghz 320gbhd) it installs correctly, but when booting off the hard drive image, it locks up after "booting from hard drive...". it has to be broken, and restarted to change the bscw file. i am inc;luding msdos 4.01 image, my hd image flle, and the bochs config files. its hard to find a hard drive less then 1gb as installed on the hd image. thanks.

    virtualbox required an unstable legacy bios. vpc2007sp1 required turning off ide busmaster in the emulated bios.
