I'm using Boa to build a GUI that will let people write Python code "steps",
which are strung together and run on different environments and reports
One thing my GUI needs to have is its own Python editor. I embedded the one
in the wxDemo, but really wish there was something similar to what Boa
Constructor has for its own editor, with line numbers and decent chroma
Anybody know of an embeddable Python Editor I can use that's close?

You want to use wxStyledTextCtrl, which wraps Scintilla. See the
wxStyledTextCtrl_2 demo under More Windows/Controls. The edit control is
excellent, but it might not work on OS X yet :(

Have a look at spe, Stani's Python Editor. (http://spe.pycs.net/)
It is designed to be run both as a stand-alone python editor, and as an editor
from within Blender, so if nothing else it should show you how to do the
embedded editor thing.
What is more, it is actually written with Boa-Constructor, so should be easy
to modify and extend if desired.
Spe is licenced under the GPL, so if your app is GPL'ed too, you should be
set. :-) If not...
