I've roughly organized the great suggestions from everyone into the
following google doc:
I will continue to update this doc as I hear new ideas and this
published page link should continue to update. I have organized the
list of ideas into roughly priority order, though some of these will
likely be worked on concurrently, while others depend on ones higher
in the list, etc.
Please feel free to review and to give feedback or add additional
thoughts or suggestions.
First let me say that the new automation tool (highlighting and moving) is
very useful and works perfectly!
I agree also that a realtime response to UI would be very very very very
In addition there are 4 small issues that I would like to address please :-)
1- Since blue does not support macros, currently the only way to set a note
length to the length of a sound-file is from within the time-line view,
using SoundFileUtilities. This works fine but limits the user to
ObjectBuilder for graphic UI (with a file selector for the sound-file that
is being accessed by csound and python). This means that either the graphic
representation of instrument controls are fragmented (k-rate in BSB and
i-rate in ObjectBuilder) or one has to set the instrument time manually, or
one is limited to using i-rate UI control only (via the ObjectBuilder) thus
sacrificing any automation for the same instrument. I hope it makes sense!
Forgive me if there is already a way around this, but I haven't worked it
2- The presets are of course very useful. First would it be possible to have
presents for plug-ins? And secondly, would be possible to have the ability
to unable any preset response to file-selector UI (maybe with a tick box)?
As it is currently designed when changing the presets the selected
audio-file changes also!
3- I cannot get the output of the Audiofile object to the mixer, Maybe I am
4-The addition of a command attachable to file selector UI for auditioning
Thanks again and as usual I wouldn't blame you if you don't have time to
read through my long-winded message!!
