So I've installed Java 7. I no longer get the error. Blue opens but it doesn't quite look right. For instance, there is no way of opening a file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/47945259/Screen%20Shot%202013-08-30%20at%2010.59.25.png

Yes, the message is just saying you don't have Java 7 installed, which
is now required for Blue.  You can install it from:

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index-jsp-138363.html

I've been using the JDK install.  Once installed, I think with the Mac
Java 6 installed, you'll have to use the "Java Preferences"
application and make Java 7 the default, then start Blue.   The java
preference program should be under Applications->Utilities.
