Which platform (i.e. operating system, and filesystem) are you working on? Please provide me with a small test file, so I could test it and eventually find solution. A quick fix is to rename the files. However, the filename is also stored in the header information of the *.vhdr and *.vmrk file. If you want to change the filename, you need to open these files with some ascii editor, search for the lines starting with "DataFile=" and "MarkerFile=" and change these entries accordingly.
