Category: File I/O Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: https://me.yahoo.com/a/uizFifU7 () Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: IEEE Explore Digital Library RIS doesn't import Initial Comment: I downloaded the attached reference from IEEE Explore at http://ieeexplore.ieee.org.ezproxy.lib.ucalgary.ca/xpl/articleDetails.jsp?tp=&arnumber=485708&rowsPerPage%3D75%26queryText%3DOrdentlich Bibdesk said that the file type couldn't be opened. I edited the lead so that the journal JO became JF and it converted it. But, it didn't convert the abstract, either. I usually download the RIS version of a reference rather than a Bibtex reference, because I find that the journal sites usually give pretty bad Bibtex references, but they tend to give good RIS references ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=497423&aid=3614034&group_id=61487 |

For example, \citation{Feng2003} in the .aux file will result in Feng2003 being selected, but \citation{Altekar2004,suchard2011} results in neither Altekar2004 nor suchard2011 being selected. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=497423&aid=3611742&group_id=61487 |

Category: Documentation Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Fischlin Andreas (afischlin) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Missing description of script groups Initial Comment: There seems to be no description of "script groups", at least I couldn't find any neither in help "5.10 Grouping References", nor at http://bibdesk.sourceforge.net/manual/BibDesk%20Help_32.html#SEC74, nor in the Wiki, nor did Googling for this give me any clue. It is also not clear to me what a typical use of such a script group should be, since we have hooks in BD I have a hard time to understand how a script can define a group. Is the script defining the group members, but then it would be some smart group selected by script execution. But when would then such a script be executed? Hook "Import Publications", "Save Document"? Or only once with menu command "New Script Group…". Sorry, but it all makes no sense to me. Studying the AppleScript dictionary for class "script group", did also not enlighten me with "A group containing publications generated by a script.". Since I can generate publications easily with many scripts (shell, Apple etc.), potentially all publications could fall into that group and this simply does not make sense to me given the hook issue mentioned above. I filed a bug report since I believe the help section on grouping publications should be extended accordingly and must not only consist of following 5.10.1 Field Groups Grouping references based on a particular field. 5.10.2 Smart Groups Grouping references based on specific criteria. 5.10.3 Static Groups Grouping arbitrary sets of references. 5.10.4 External Groups Importing groups of items from an external source. Secondly any hints what typical use was envisaged when designing script groups would be greatly appreciated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=497423&aid=3608882&group_id=61487 |

Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: yun (yuninn) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: EndnoteX5 to BibDesk 1.6 - Temp Cite Key not working? Initial Comment: I am trying to export database from EndNote X5 to BibDesk 1.6. After exporting from EndNote and changing the ext to .bib, on BibDesk I tried to open with Temp Cite Key but failed. It opened an empty database and nothing else happen (didn't prompt to auto generate cite key). What is wrong? Below is the output format from EndNote: @article{ | `author = `{Author}, | `title = `{Title}, | `journal = `{Journal}, | `volume = `{Volume}, | `number = `{Issue}, | `pages = `{Pages}, | `keywords = `{Keywords}, | `year = `{Year} This is an example of the exported file: @article{ author = {Kum, O. and Shin, H. and Han, Y.}, title = {Evaluation of New VMAT and IMRT Planning QA Devices: Portal Dosimetry Vs Compass}, journal = {Medical Physics}, volume = {39}, number = {6}, pages = {3730-3730}, note = {Times Cited: 0 54th Annual Meeting and Exhibition of the American-Association-of-Physicists-in-Medicine (AAPM) Jul 29-aug 02, 2012 Charlotte, NC Amer Assoc Physicists Med (AAPM)}, year = {2012} } ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=497423&aid=3606826&group_id=61487 |

By this, you define the Mac OS X feature a BUG, for which you have created unwanted and unnecessarily a "workaround". This is just stupid stubbornness. If I do not want to have my windows re-opened at log-in, I just unmark the tick on the logout window. This is haughty and stubborn know-it-better programming behaviour. If you want to improve the MacOS then apply for a job at Apple, or create your own OS! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=497423&aid=3605900&group_id=61487 |

Not one single field is recognized in the popup dialog. I have to save the information to a RIS file on my hard disk and then open it with BibDesk, and drag it over to my main BibDesk Library. Not a dealbreaker, but very annoying and obviously due to some recent changes in the software. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=497423&aid=3604457&group_id=61487 |
