Hello Jim, I'm also very interested to have you create a server on an IBM AIX. No one has tried to do so at this time, but if you what to try it, the first step would be to try to use Bacula on some existing system where it works (Linux, Solaris, FreeBSD), just to learn it. That isn't necessary, but would help you a lot. The second step is to look at the "Porting" chapter in the online manual: http://www.bacula.org/html-manual/porting.html then when you have questions, either send them to me directly or if you wish (not a bad idea), copy the developer's list bac...@li.... Best regards, Kern PS: If you have GNU C available, your life will be much easier. Otherwise, you will need a good C++ compiler. In addition, Bacula REQUIRES a good implementation of Pthreads. If you don't have Pthreads, I wouldn't even try the port. Otherwise, most the rest is POSIX.
