The following issue has been CLOSED ====================================================================== http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=2080 ====================================================================== Reported By: hansmocnet Assigned To: kern ====================================================================== Project: Bacula Bug Reports Issue ID: 2080 Category: configure/build process Reproducibility: have not tried Severity: minor Priority: normal Status: closed Resolution: no change required Fixed in Version: ====================================================================== Date Submitted: 2014-07-18 11:15 BST Last Modified: 2014-07-21 10:58 BST ====================================================================== Summary: Permission fail /var/{lib,log,cache}/bacula Description: Problem: After "make install" there was wrong permission to /var/{lib,log,cache}/bacula/ and sub-directory /var/cache/bacula was missing. Steps to Reproduce: Remove the directories mentioned and "make install" and run a backup. ls -ld /var/{lib,log,cache}/bacula Additional Information: I solved the problem with: mkdir -p /var/cache/bacula chmod -R bacula:bacula /var/{lib,log,cache}/bacula ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0006982) kern (administrator) - 2014-07-19 09:45 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=2080#c6982 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This bug report doesn't have sufficient information for me to act on. 1. you do not say what user did the make install, 2. you didn't say what permissions the files had, and what permissions you want (though that is implied by your solution), 3. to the best of my knowledge Bacula does not create any /var/cache/ directories so some explanation is needed. 4. I am not sure that by default, bacula uses or creates any of those directories. Comment: If you use non-standard or non-default directories in your ./configure, in general (though not always) it is up to you to create the directories and setup the proper permissions. This avoids that Bacula might change permissions or ownership of system directories. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0006985) hansmocnet (reporter) - 2014-07-21 10:56 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=2080#c6985 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. root did make the install 3. I think it is my fault. It was made by me (or my collegue) I think this bug report can just be deleted. I'm sorry for the inconveniece. /hans ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0006986) kern (administrator) - 2014-07-21 10:58 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=2080#c6986 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Closed by request of the ticket author.
