The following issue requires your FEEDBACK. ====================================================================== http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1627 ====================================================================== Reported By: Thanny Assigned To: ====================================================================== Project: bacula Issue ID: 1627 Category: bat Reproducibility: always Severity: major Priority: normal Status: feedback ====================================================================== Date Submitted: 2010-08-23 21:31 GMT Last Modified: 2011-01-20 17:55 GMT ====================================================================== Summary: BAT shows incomplete lists (media, files, etc.) Description: Under 64-bit Windows, BAT is disconnected from the director in the middle of a list transfer, which causes virtually all such lists to be incomplete. That includes volumes and files. For example, if I apply a filter to a specific pool with 60 file volumes, it shows 1 through 49 only. If I change the filter to another pool, then back, it may show 1 through 16 only. Each time the list is cut short, the status bar says "Director disconnected.", while a normal list ends with "At main prompt waiting for input..." When restoring files, this has the effect of leaving out huge chunks of the backup. When I attempted to manually type "cd x:/path" for a path which was missing from the list (but definitely in the backup), BAT actually crashed. Steps to Reproduce: Install bacula-win64-5.0.3.exe, run BAT, try to get a list of anything from a director. Additional Information: I've noticed no such problems on a 32-bit Vista client, running the same version. No problems also with version 5.0.2 installed from the Gentoo ebuild. See attached screenshot showing Windows 64-bit BAT versus Linux 64-bit BAT. The former is on the left, with a truncated list. The latter is on the right, with a complete list (run with Cygwin/X). ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (0005718) kern (administrator) - 2011-01-20 17:55 http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=1627#c5718 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This looks to me like some sort of a networking problem with Vista or it may be some problem with the Qt libraries on Windows. bat is a 32 bit program and maybe Vista doesn't like that. The next version of Bacula will have many improvements to Bat and is linked against a much newer version of Qt. Perhaps that will resolve the problem. I will run some tests on Win2008 with the most current version. If I can reproduce the problem, we should be able to correct it, but unfortunately the priority is not very high.
