You can run the CGI interface remotely. You need to export the BackupPC data directory via NFS to the machine running apache. BackupPC_Admin communicates with the BackupPC server based on the settings of $Conf{ServerHost} and $Conf{ServerPort}. You need to set $Conf{ServerPort} to a positive number, typically more than 1024. To keep things simple the path to the BackupPC directory should be the same on both machines. Also, BackupPC should be installed in the same place on both machines (since BackupPC_Admin needs access to the lib/BackupPC modules). On the other hand, installing apache is pretty easy. Craig |
