Hi Everyone, I'm having problems with one of our servers backing up. Sometimes it works fine but most of the time I get an error like the following: [ skipped 32974 lines ] Read EOF: Tried again: got 0 bytes Can't write 4 bytes to socket finish: removing in-process file home/dnalims/fragment/ftp/trace-Dec13-10-45-12.zip [ skipped 25 lines ] Done: 4035 files, 189200907 bytes Got fatal error during xfer (aborted by signal=PIPE) Backup aborted by user signal It always seems to be an error with an in process file. This server cannot go down for me just to back it up and I have to backup the directories that it is getting these errors in so excluding them in my rsync command is out of the question. Here is the rsync command that runs on the system: /usr/bin/ssh -q -x -l backuppc naps.msl.ubc.ca sudo /usr/bin/rsync --server --sender --numeric-ids --perms --owner --group -D --links --hard-links --times --block-size=2048 --recursive . / This is the only server we are having problems with and use the same command to backup many more. This server usualy is about a 35Gb data backup and is our largest backup so timeouts may be an issue but I set the ClientTimeout to 72000. Any ideas backup gurus?
