We are seeing a variety of problems between a BackupPC server (2.1.2) and rsyncd (2.6.3, 2.6.6 etc.) on the clients. Restores seem to work like normal for over 45 min or an hour and then the rsyncd process seems to stop receiving any more data from errors like these according to the rsyncd.log: Connection timed out (110) From "perldoc File::RsyncP" version 0.52 of this Perl module is compatible with rsync 2.5.5 (protocol version 26). This seems to be a bit old by today's standards. Does anyone know if there are any plans to update RsyncP soon so that it can take advantage of the new enhancements and bug fixes included in more recent versions of rsync? I get the feeling that rsync keeps advancing but RsyncP is a bit frozen in time. Does anyone know for sure if there are any compatibility issues between RsyncP and modern versions of rsync on the clients? Thanks much. |
