>Which documentation? The documentation found here, under the copying the pool section: http://backuppc.sourceforge.net/faq/BackupPC.html#step_4__setting_up_the_= hosts_file I did copy everything at once and it took quite a while but eventually finished without incident. >Where do you see the 36% used number? In order to make sure that the backup pool didn't take down / if it filled, I mounted a disk specifically for that use. We have backup PC installed in /var/lib/backuppc and since we're compressing everything I mounted the drive (250GB) in /var/lib/backuppc/cpool. If I do a df on that drive, I get back: /dev/sdb1 240362656 80180764 147972092 36% /var/lib/backuppc/cpool So I'll assume I have enough free space and it shouldn't be reported as full. Also, it's not moving stuff into pool instead of cpool because poo= l is empty. One of the other problems I'm having is that user authentication isn't working. I tried following the info here: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=3D4321108 and I was promped for a user name and password once, but it didn't appear to work correctly and after the first time I was never prompted again (I didn't store the password). In the CGI interface no hosts show up however if I search for a specific hostd name I get to that host's page and receive a message saying that I'm not an authorized user. I'm unsure as to why I'v= e stopped being prompted for username/password and why even when I entered it correctly the first time it wouldn't work. I think the best approach in this case is to just keep the old server around in case you have to restore from it until the new one builds its own history. > After installing, I copied the backup of the cpool to > the new location using: cp -a like the documentation said. And it may take days to complete, which is why you might as well let the new one rebuild from scratch. > 2005-06-17 01:00:02 Disk too full (100%); skipping 262 hosts > I have no clue why it's reporting the drive is full > when it's only 36% used.
