I have an archive host set up. I can archive to it just fine, as long as
parity is set to 0. However, if I set the parity to anything but zero,
the archive will create the tar file, but I then get the following error:
Archive failed (Error: /usr/bin/par2 failed)
However, if I go into the server and type:
/usr/bin/par2 c -r05 <tar file created by BackupPC>
it works just fine. If I had to take a guess, I would guess that the
command line being used by BackupPC isn't liked by Par2, but that it total
supposition. What can I do to track this down? I've tried apt-getting a
newer version, but it would require updates to a *rather* large number of
low-level software pieces and I would prefer not to do that...
I'm running BackupPC 2.1.0-8 on Knoppix 3.7, with Par2 0.4-2.
