You cannot manually start a backup on a DHCP host from anywhere other than the client itself. The IP address where the request came from is in the log file: 2002/2/25 11:40:52 User backrec requested backup of sank2 (127.0.0.1) which in your case is localhost. The reason is that BackupPC doesn't otherwise know the host's IP address (and I decided it wasn't worth doing a search over the DHCP address space for a user's manual start request). So you should try either of these things: - start the request from the WinXX client machine or - telnet to BackupPC and type "backup all", then "quit". This will try every host in $Conf{DHCPAddressRanges}, which is what happens at each regular wakeup. Hopefully this solves your problem. Craig |
