First of all thanks for making such a simple yet powerful backup utility that I
understand. A.M.A.N.D.A is another one I've tried setting but never
sucessfully because it's very confusing.
Now onto my delema. I've got servers spread over a network structure where
some are inside a DMZ and others are outside. The DMZ prevents pings from
getting to the servers behind it. I've placed my backup server outside the DMZ
and this prevents me from backing up hosts inside the DMZ because ping fails to
them. One obvious solution I'm heavily considering is to move the backup
server into the DMZ. But another might be a configuration option per host that
would say even if a ping fails try to back it up anyways, is it possible to add
this feature? Another time I can think of this coming in handy is if I have an
IPTables firewall on an individual host and I want to prevent ping requests to
it in that manner.
Once again, SUPURB software you have got going here and thanks for making it
available to everyone!
