I have installed 3.0.0alpha on 3/20/06 and noticed an odd behavior today. All of my backup history for all hosts was purged and renumbered, ignoring any of my retention settings. My oldest backup for all hosts today is 47 days. I used to have 6 months on most hosts, with one host config file overriding with 1 year. Unfortunately, I have not had time to go back over the logs to determine what happened, but FullAgeMax, FullAgeDays in all relevant config files has my original settings which now seem to be ignored. Is this a bug or did I just plain miss something in the changelog? If there is any more information I can give, please let me know. Thanks, Mike |

It should also be backward compatible, although I need to check if some of the old optional locations for config files are still supported. Where are your per-PC config files stored? In TOPDIR/conf/HOST.pl or TOPDIR/pc/HOST/config.pl? Craig |

In > TOPDIR/conf/HOST.pl or TOPDIR/pc/HOST/config.pl? My per-pc config files are in TOPDIR/conf/HOST.pl. They are showing up correctly when I use the "edit config" link under the host(s). Unfortunately, it is not honoring the settings for FullAgeMax or FullKeepCnt that are in the main config.pl file either as I have them set at 180 and 25 respectively. One other note: I have all of the config files stored in /etc/backuppc, then TOPDIR/conf is symlinked to /etc/backuppc. Is this a problem? On another host on which I was testing this out, the config files physically exist in TOPDIR/conf, and that machine does not exhibit the same behavior with regard to retention. Please let me know if there is any more info I can provide. Thanks, Mike |
