Running Windows Server 2008 R2. Publishing Outlook 2007 using Remote Desktop Services. Installed AxCrypt - 1.7.2126.0 64-bit. Locally on the server the right-click option is available, but is not an option while attaching a file in Outlook. Don't want to have the remote users connecting to the desktop at all, so encrypting them using Outlook is essential.

Discussion

  • Hello,

I'm not sure I understand, probably because I have no experience with 'Publishing Outlook 2007 using Remote Desktop Services'. How does that work, and are server-installed utillites typically available in such a session?

Presumably, the attachment is made locally on the client - at least the file system must be local? I'd suggest the user encrypt the document before attempting to attach it, but then again there's something about the situation I do not quite understand.

    Can you elaborate?

    Svante

    Hi,

Sorry. Let me clarify. When I log on using Remote Desktop and open Outlook, I do not have the option to encrypt files before I attach them. I have the option using explorer on the desktop, but not with Outlook.

This is a thin client environment. The file system, applications, etc.. are on the server.
