To try Axcrypt I have crypted all the documents on my computer and left them coded.
The password (phrase) was stored on a usb key.
I lost the key.
I have a few of the crypted files in non crypted (clear) original form.
Can I retrieve the password.
Can I decrypt completely my documents?

I am desperate since I have some very important information used everyday now crypted and not usable.

I have read your documentation and your recommandations on keeping passwords, I know I did wrong, I just need a confirmation or a solution if possible since some vital information for my job could be lost if there is no solution.
Thanks for your answer

    Hello,

First of all - have you also read: http://www.axantum.com/AxCrypt/faq.html#lost_passphrase ?

    1. "Can I retrieve the password?" - No, except in the rare case described in the FAQ.
    2. "Can I decrypt completely my documents?" - No, except if 1. actually is possible and successful.

Sorry... But that's what AxCrypt is made for. Without the passphrase - no data.
