I use the logresolvemerge.pl script to merge a a couple (up to 90) virtual
host access log files and I have an awstats config for each domain and for the
server all together.
LogFile="perl /path/to/logresolvemerge.pl /home/logs/*.log |"
If I sum all domains by hand I get around 20% more visitors than I get using
the all configuration with logresolvemerge.
Does anyone have an explanation for that?
Best Regards from Berlin
You mean 20% more visits or 20% more unique visitors ?

20% more visits. For the uniques I don't have a number currently.
Say that a visitor goes to site A and that he follows a link there to site B
and that both sites A and B are among your 90 virtual hosts. These events will
count as 1 visit on site A and 1 visit on site B, but logresolvemerge will
only count 1 visit to the group of 90 virtual hosts.
Ok, thank you very much for your hints. I'm still wondering that it makes a
20% difference because our hosts are related to completely different topics.
