I have been running AWStats for several years on Windows XP, configured for
offline processing, and it has worked well. I now have a new PC with Windows 7
64 bit. AWStats has been configured in the identical folder structure and
appears to work properly but when I do an updateall (on my 4 domains) it only
picks up around 1/4 of the hits and significantly none from any search engine
robots. I did consider whether it was 64bit versus 32 bit Perl but having just
put the 64 bit version on the results were the same. The same log file (and
dnscache.txt) processes correctly on my XP machine.
Are there any known issues with Windows 7?
OK, after another search in the forums, this is another case of the bug at:
I couldn't manage to get the patch to install so have got round the problem by
downgrading to Perl 5.12.4. This bug really is a killer and as pointed out in
the thread above makes it totally unusable with the latest version of Perl.
Let us hope they produce an updated version soon.
